Playing Field

A Defibrillator has been installed close to the shelter

The Brentor Playing Field is a large open space available to all for :
Family Recreation, Picnics, Sports, Exercise and Dog Walking.
It is also, in the summer months, the location for the Brentor Car Boot Sales.
It has wonderful views of Gibbet Hill and St Michael’s Church on the Tor

It also hosts a lighting mast for use in emergencies by Devon Air Ambulance

Management, maintenance and funding of the Field is provided by the 
Village Hall and Playing Field committee. 
Additional financial support has been given for items of equipment and 
field enhancement by the Friends of the Field initiative.

  • Location Using this map the main gate is just under the n in ‘Burn Ln’ near the Lydford – Tavistock road.

    There are also two pedestrian gates in the road from Brentor Village
  • Parking
    There is parking for several cars in the lane outside the gate and on hard standing inside the gate. There is a ‘Dinosaur’ bike rack for bicycles.
  • Playground
    The securely fenced play area provides a safe environment for children. Inside there is a picnic bench and a play table with a Draughts & Snakes and Ladders top (please bring your own counters) as well as play equipment aimed at younger children
  • Seating
    There are several picnic benches located in the field which can seat up to 60 people. There are also seats sited around the perimeter.
    There is a wooden shelter near the main entrance with seating. This is not enclosed but provides cover during showers
  • Toilet
    The Field does not have a water supply but there is a very efficient compost toilet near the shelter
  • Electricity
    Electricity has recently been installed at the Playing Field
